Live Beautifully - Birthday Wishes from Miss Anya

Hi folks,

Just stopping in to share another card I made using the "Live Beautifully" papers from Close To My Heart. Get them while you can - they are only available for the month of May!

I also used a sentiment and banner die cut from the CTMH "Little Dreamer" stamp and Thin Cuts bundle. The heart is from the CTMH Basic Hearts Thin Cuts.

The image is from one of the older Miss Anya sets from The Greeting Farm and was coloured with Copic Markers.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

With unicorns all the rage at the moment, it was very timely for CTMH to release a unicorn themed paper collection, don't you think?

Even if you aren't thrilled about using unicorns in your layouts or cards, this paper pack has lots of other fun, vibrant patterns and colours for spring and celebrating all year round.

For close ups of each of the papers in the collection, just click through to this link and click on the thumbnails of each paper and it's reverse side.

For this month's hop, I made these four cards.

For this card, I just had to use this sentiment from the Little Dreamer Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts Bundle. I LOVE IT!!! The star die cuts from the same set were a perfect accent on this quick make card.

For this second card, that cute unicorn paper makes another appearance - along with the banner die cut and another sentiment from the Little Dreamer Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts Bundle.

This third card continues with the unicorn theme with the unicorn die cut from the Little Dreamer Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts Bundle. I added a bit of sparkle to the star and the unicorn's horn, snout, mane, and tail with my gold and clear shimmer brushes. And did you notice that Sparkle & Shine paper? That's actually from one of the PML cards in the paper pack.

So ... are you tired of my unicorns yet? Okay, here's a card that DOESN'T have a single unicorn in sight. What it does have is lots and lots of colour! Yes, colour. With a "U". Yay! CTMH released two versions of the Little Dreamer Scrapbooking Stamp Set (& Thin Cuts Bundle). One with the American spelling and one with the British spelling! Being Canadian, I, of course, had to have the British spelling. Oh, and those fish-tail banners across the bottom of the card? Those are actually using papers from the Adventure Fundamentals. I thought they were perfect accents on this card. Don't forget your fundamentals! All of the themed papers that are featured in the Seasonal Expressions Idea Books also pair wonderfully with the fundamentals in the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

And now off you go to the next stop on the hop at The Brae-er!

Live Beautifully - Black Flowers

Hi folks,

Just sharing a few more cards featuring the "Live Beautifully" collection from CTMH.

For this trio of cards, I went dramatic. Black hearts popped up against the thistle coloured paper in the collection. Again, these cards are inspired by cards in a workshop designed by Jacquie Paech - another CTMH consultant.

For this first card, I kept the portrait orientation for the layout.

For this second one, I switched it to a landscape orientation.

For this third card, I went with the same papers from the Mother's Day cards here but switched the layout to a portrait orientation and added the trio of black flowers.

May Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our May Blog Hop featuring our favourite new paper collections. We have four new amazing and fun paper collections in the current Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book.

We have an amazing group of talented ladies all across Canada and they would sure love to hear from you. So, before you hopping along to the next stop in the hop, be sure to leave a comment about what you loved.

If you've arrived from Caroline's blog then you are in the right place. If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop and travel from East to West, you can start here.

As I may a LOT of masculine cards, I immediately fell in love with the Jack collection. Here's a peek at the paper pack.

I love, love, love those plaids!

With Father's Day coming next month, I put my Jack collection to good use making Father's Day cards. Note that all four of these cards are 6 x 6 cards.

For this first card, I was inspired by the layout on page 37 of the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. I think it translated very well from a scrapbook layout into a card sketch. I just replaced the photo image with the lumberjack die cut from the Jack scrapbooking stamp + Thin Cuts bundle and used the sentiments from the Jack cardmaking stamp + Thin Cuts bundle.

For the second card, I used the layout for one of the cards from the WYW Father's Day Cardmaking Kit with a black 6x6 card base.

For the third card, I once again took inspiration from a scrapbook page layout. This time from page 34 of the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. I switched up the papers but stuck with the colour blocking technique. And I just HAD to use that cute, cuddly bear from the Jack cardmaking stamp + Thin Cuts bundle.

And for my final card, I was inspired by one of the cards from the optional cardmaking project from the Jack WYW Scrapbooking kit. You can see those cards on page 39 of the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book. For this card though, you can see that I used a different mix of papers from the one in the idea book. I REALLY wanted to use those trees, plaid and axe print papers.

Now, don't let my focus on Father's Day cards dissuade you from thinking that once Father's Day is done, that you won't be able to use the Jack collection. I'm already planning to re-make these cards as birthday cards. AND -- there's something about those plaids and the trees that have me thinking Christmas. Stay tuned! There might be Christmas cards coming from these papers!

To purchase any of the items you see along the hop today, be sure to get in touch with your local consultant.

Your next stop in the hop is Diana! I'm sure you will have a fantastic time over at her blog as well!

If you get lost along the way, you can head on over to Michelle S blog as she has the full list of hop participants.

Live Beautifully - Sea Glass Flowers

Hi folks,

Here's another duo of cards I created using the CTMH "Live Beautifully" collection. Once again, these cards are inspired by a workshop designed by Jacquie Paech - another CTMH consultant.

The first is a Mother's Day card using the original portrait orientation.

And for the second I flipped the card into a landscape position.

Live Beautifully - Double Hearts for Mother's Day

Hi folks,

Just thought I would share a few more cards I have made with the "Live Beautifully" collection from CTMH.

These cards went in the mail to mine and dearly beloved's Moms for Mother's Day. You can see the card I made for dearly beloved's step-mom here (she likes tea). They are inspired by cards in a Live Beautifully workshop designed by Jacquie Paech - another CTMH consultant.

This first card follows the original design fairly closely, I just changed up the sentiment for a mother's Day one.

The second card is my favourite 6 x 6 size with a black base instead of white. I think the black really makes the papers pop. I also added the gold dots card from the pack and switched out the zip strip for the bolder black and white. I also added another layer to the hearts.

Live Beautifully - Anniversary Wishes

Hi folks,

Here's another creation featuring the "Live Beautifully" papers from Close To My Heart. It's an anniversary card for my dearly beloved - we celebrated seventeen years together earlier this month.
